Kari’s life journey began at Oak Knull Naval Hospital in Oakland, California in 1964. She grew up in Milpitas and Fremont, California. She is married to Robert and between the two of them have five grown children and several grandchildren. The two of them live outside of Sacramento, California where she spends her days writing and they continue to enjoy the beautiful sunshine together.
It all started with her literature and drama teacher, Mr. Funk at Mission San Jose High School, where he taught her how to write poetry and short stories. She was nominated and chosen to wite about the California State Seal at the dedication of the 4-H California building in Washington DC.
Kari was chosen to write and speak at their High School graduation to best represent the students. Writing poetry has always been her outlet to further express herself. Over the years she has enjoyed writing poems and stories for her family and close friends up until now.
One of the things close to her heart was to help start a book club at the resort where they live. She enjoys setting up local author’s to come and meet with their club and has started a semi-annual authors lunch.
Kari started and moderates “A Writer’s Journey” on FaceBook where she shares the good, the bad and the ugly about her journey as a writer. She encourages writers to also share their stories and questions.
Her favorite Facebook group is Pitch 2 Published, where she continues to learn how to make sure her manuscript is being seen in the best light.
Kari’s close friends and family have been extremely helpful and have encouraged her on this journey to share her love for story telling. She spins a tale that keeps you wanting to turn the page to see what happens next. She uses a fictional plot with a little suspense, romance and humor to guide you along the way.
Are you ready to share in her journey, one that will endear her characters and unique writing style to you for a lifetime.
